DO NOT BUY - DEFECTIVE KEYPADS
This microwave starting turning on and off by itself a month after it was out of warranty. Seriously - while sitting in the family room, the microwave turned on by itself, lights and everything and started running. GE was nice enough to send a tech out to repair the problem for free even though it was out of warranty, but the problem returned within a month of getting a new keypad. The keypad is defective and there are numerous reports from other consumers of the same problem on other websites and appliance forums. GE is now sending a brand new oven to us for just the cost of the shipping. The tech said the keypad is not properly insulated from the heat and steam from the stovetop and this is a common repair item. It's designed to be used over the stove, so GE needs to do something different to protect the inner workings of the keypad. We're giving it another shot in case it was just a bad batch of keypads and because GE was nice enough to try to accomodate an out of warranty item...
