Beautiful and functional toaster
After viewing numerous toasters on Amazon, ranging in price from $30 to $300, I decided to buy the Dualit toaster as a gift for my husband. It was worth every penny! Not only is it stylish, but it far surpasses any toaster we've previously owned. Best features: Peek & Pop, cord storage/wrap underneath, and the 4 wide slots. It is larger than most toasters, but it has such a nice design we don't mind. The Dualit toasts as a toaster should, but you might want to test the settings beforehand. I prefer lighter toast, and on a normal toaster a "2" or "3" will do the trick, but on the Dualit I find I need to set it to "1".

Dualit Enthusiast
This is my second Dualit toaster in the last five years, the first one still in perfect working order, just had to be left in the UK whilst we're in the US for a 3 year stint in Sunny California.
My first toaster was a similar model and colour, except it was the elongated version with two slots for four slices of bread. I have to say, I prefer this version much better as I don't feel I'm wasting energy when just toasting two slices of bread.
I debated for a long time whether I should push the boat out and purchase the much pricier Classic or Classic Vario as they have so many nice colours, but decided against it as I would have to give it up after a few years when we go back home. This Dualit was nicely priced and when I received it, I was surprised how 'Chunky' it actually was. It looks amazing on my counter top. It does take up a lot more room, so beware if you have limited counter space. I'm lucky to have a big kitchen so this isn't a problem for me...
Slightly screwed up manual and wiring
I bought this toaster based upon the two existing 5 star reviews. My old Krups toaster just didn't get enough heat to toast an English muffin properly. The first problem was the instruction manual. It has the bagel and defrost buttons mixed up. It tells you to push the defrost button for a bagel and the bagel button for frozen bread. (I use the bagel setting to top brown my English muffins so this was a problem). Like other toasters with a top browning feature, the manual instructs you to place the bagel (or English muffin in my case), with the cut sides facing each other. This I did and walked away. When I came back, after it popped, I noticed that the cut sides had next to no color while the uncut sides were obviously toasted. I did some experimenting and found that the elements were wired wrong and the cut sides had to be placed facing out and away from each other. Now I am finally getting a decent toasted English muffin in the morning. I must admit, I haven't tried...
